Vista - Cant recieve new emails

I try and recieve my new emails and it gets stuck at recieveing
them....window box says recieving message 1 of 28. I'm using Windows Vista
Ultimate 32 bit.
Here's my error message.....

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: 'mail.gci.net', Server: 'mail.gci.net', Protocol: POP3,
Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

I've tried deleting my account and making a new one but it doesnt help. Any
help would be greatly appreciated.

There may be a corrupted message on the server, preventing it
from being downloaded. Go to https://my.gci.net and log in your
mail account there. Delete the oldest message, then try
Windows Mail again.
