No Pictures

I have a friend who attempts to send email containing pictures in the body
of the message. But when I open the mail from here all I get is a blank
outline with a red X in the upper left hand corner. Is this something
setting in her system that causes this and if so how can it be changed?

Hi Marv,

Check these settings in Windows Mail:
1. Click Tools, then Options.
2. Click the Read tab
A) Make sure the "Read all messages in plain text" is unchecked.
3. Click the Security tab.
A) Dot "Internet Zone"
B) Uncheck "Do not allow..."
C) Uncheck "Block images and...."

This should let you see the images now.

Re: No Pictures

Thanks for the input Shawn
The problem seems to be with the sender. I received the email with the
pictures for friend A and I could see the just fine. I sent the pictures to
friend B. She could see them but when she tries to forward them back to me
and others none of the receiptants (including me) can see them.

Does that explanation make sense?

Mark,

It makes sense to me. I would have friend B check these settings above to, but in addition these below also:

1. Click on Tools, then Options.
2. Click the Send tab
3. Check "Reply to messages..."
4. Under "Mail Sending Format"
A) DOT "HTML"
B) Click the "HTML Settings" button
C) Check "Send pictures with messages"

Re: No Pictures

Which email program does friend B use?
Sounds like friend B is using some incorrect settings.

Re: No Pictures

Emails sent from Outlook Express should be fully compatible
with Windows Mail. If friend B was using Outlook, that would
explain the problem. Friend B should email the pictures to herself
and to friend A to find out if that works. Problems with Outlook
Express are not really suitable for discussion in this Windows Mail forum.

Re: No Pictures

I have the same problem, my father uses 'internet mail' and I am running 'windows mail' in Vista, I have checked/unchecked all the correct boxes and have done as above 'rules' and still I cannot see the pictures in the bulk of the email sent to me......and I cannot open attachements either!
Has this now been resolved for the previous person?
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help me

Re: No Pictures

Please identify your father's email program. I have not heard
of one called "internet mail".

Which antivirus program are you running?
