Newsgroups

Im using Vista for for the first time. I have a question regarding
NewsReader. When I updated the Newsgroup list, all I saw was Microsoft
Newsgroups. How to I update to see ALL the newsgroups available, not just
the Microsoft newsgroups?
Thanks.

That is all that is available on the MS news server.

You need to check if your ISP provides a news feed, or pay for access to
one, or even find a free server?

Try http://www.motzarella.org it is free and good. Enjoy.

You have to add another newsgroup server that carries more
newsgroups. For the bellsouth.net newsgroup server, see
here:

<http://support.att.net/bellsouth/asp/contentview.asp?isbrowse=true&sprt_cid=4a0599c2%2D4129%2D4466%2Db2e2%2D0f3519699941>

Note that to post on this server, you will have to do a little
more. After you create the newsgroup account, click on
Tools, then Options, then Send, then under News Sending
Format, HTML Settings. If the text in the box after Encode
text using: is None, click on the triangle and change it to one
of the other choices. Click OK, then Plain Text Settings.
If there if a blue dot in the circle before before MIME,
and None in the box after Encode text using:, make the
same change. Click on OK, then Apply, then OK again.
If, after downloading the whole newsgroup list, you know
of another newsgroup you want added, ask for it in
newsgroup bellsouth.net.support.news-service (a private
newsgroup for this server).

Re: Newsgroups

Check with your ISP. I believe their news server is
NEWSGROUPS.BELLSOUTH.NET.

Re: Newsgroups

Add an additional newsgroup account for non-MS newsgroups.
