Why would they want to give you free access to anything other
that the Microsoft newsgroups, especially if other newsgroups
are often mostly criticism of Microsoft products? Especially
the high load of the binaries newsgroups?

There's no reason they would, just wistful musing on my part. Way back when
I got used to the German newsserver. It spoiled me. :-)
