Re: pop3 server or IMAP

Your mail provider is the best source for that information.
They will have a web page with all the email setup directions.
If you need more help, tell us who your mail provider is.

Re: pop3 server or IMAP

Having them available at all for a Hotmail account is an extra cost
option. You may prefer to download and install Windows Live
Mail, which can access Hotmail accounts without paying extra:

For accounts elsewhere, you usually have to get that information
from your email provider; or you could tell us what email provider
you want to use and see if anyone here already knows where to
find the information. Many people choose their internet providers
as their email providers also.

Re: pop3 server or IMAP

Do you have a mail provider other than Hotmail? Typically your ISP
will give you a free email address, something like you@xxxxxx.
Your ISP will have a web page that explains how to set up an email
account.

Free Hotmail accounts will not work in Windows Mail. If you want to use a
Hotmail account you will need to upgrade to the free Windows Live Mail:

Re: pop3 server or IMAP

Microsoft is not a mail service provider, unless you mean their
Hotmail/Live division.
Do you have an existing email address? If yes, what is the part of your
email address after the @ symbol?
If you don't have an existing email address, let us know, and we can
steer you in the right direction.
