Windows Mail closing

The problem I am having with Windows mail is that when i open it to check
mail it starts to check the accounts, then it says "windows has encoutered a
problem" "checking for a solution" then the dreaded "there is no fix, im
going to close"
If I am persistant and keep reopening the program it will eventually check
all the emails, but then will prompt an error in 10 min and ask me to close
the program.
Is there some problem that no fix has been released for this?
help I just want my mail to work!

Re: Windows Mail closing

Microsoft has released a replacement program for Windows Mail.
All indications are that no further fixes for Windows Mail will be forthcoming.
I recommend you upgrade to the newer Windows Live Mail:

Re: Windows Mail closing

Thank you Gary, I did download the Windows Live Mail - and it all went fine
until I left it open for ten minutes and it did the same thing Windows mail
did
"Windows mail has encountered a problem"
"Checking for a solution"
"Windows mail has stopped working"
"A problem caused the program to stop working correctly, Windows will close
the program and notify you if a solution is available."
of course there is the button to close the program
So I am left wondering "if" there has been a solution or is this new
computer defunct? please help me
Susan

Re: Windows Mail closing

Sorry to hear that the problem still exists.
You need to take a close look at the other programs that were running
at the time, especially third party security products.

Re: Windows Mail closing

Gary,
Don't be sorry ! Its not your fault unless of course you were the designer
At least you attempted an answer and didn't tell me "it's a loose nut behind
the keyboard"
I have turned off anything running such as kodak software, and hp printer
software, its a bares bones operation now.
Thanks again
Susan

Re: Windows Mail closing

The only remaining suggestion I have is to try Thunderbird:
