Altered subject lines

Hi,

From time to time I receive emails which have been marked as SPAM (in the
subject line) I have a rule set up to delete such messages. Whilst that
works well there is on occasion a message which actually isn't SPAM after
all.

I can copy the email to the desktop and edit it with notepad to remove the
word SPAM from the subject line and then save and drag it back into Windows
mail but the situation I have is that I have a (mail) folder which has a
large number of needed emails incorrectly marked.

Does anyone know of a utility that can be used to rename the subject line
(specifically to remove the word SPAM) from all messages in a given folder?

Many thanks

Re: Altered subject lines

I'm not aware of any such utility.
Why not attack this problem at the source?
The SPAM designation is probably being added by your third party
security software, or by a setting at the mail provider's server.

I'm not running a third party utility but clearly could do so whilst turning
off the overzealous SPAM trapping my email provider uses.
The problem in doing that is the amount of wasted time with various servers
being contacted for each incoming email.
At least that's how Spampal appears to work. If all goes well then only a
few seconds are wasted for each email but I've seen emails delayed by 20-30
seconds which is a problem for me as I often receive 800-1000 emails per
day.

I guess the amount of time taken to find something to take out the "SPAM"
marking in the subject line will be quite high so doing it all by hand is
the order of the day.

Perhaps someone may have advice on an alternative to Spampal which relies on
several servers rather than just one or even none.

Thanks

Re: Altered subject lines

Sorry, I don't believe we have any SpamPal experts among the
regular responders here.
