| | Re: error message Outlook Express won't run under Vista, so the error message must be incorrect. A recent version of the Trend antivirus program (details not available) causes assorted problems in Windows Mail, and must be uninstalled to stop these problems. You may then need to remove your email account under Windows Mail, then restart Windows Mail. If messages are staying in the Outbox for an unreasonable time, move these messages to the Drafts folder or delete them. If you find any that refuse to do either, download and install this hotfix, with Windows Mail not running: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090 Although it's labelled as for mail stuck in the Outbox, it also works in other folders. If you don't know whether you have a 32-bit version of Vista or a 64-bit version, try the hotfix for the 32-bit version first. This hotfix is also available as part of Vista SP1, but that takes longer to install. If this cures your problems, you may want a replacement antivirus program that doesn't cause such problems. Most versions of the Norton and McAfee antivirus programs are bad choices, since they also cause problems in Windows Mail. I recommend either avast! or AVG, either one with a custom install that tells it to leave out the part that scans email. http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0?prd=aff "millie" <millie@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:0ED3B406-8961-47F5-A59F-6E625C6F52CC@xxxxxx Quote: >I too have the same problem.
