| | Vista Home Premium - Windows Mail Got a new Dell PC a couple months ago with Vista Home Premium factory installed. Windows Mail was working great but now I get the following: "Windows Mail could not be started because MSOE.DLL could not be initialized." What should I do? -- Candy Sue |

| | Re: Vista Home Premium - Windows Mail My Dell came with Trend Micro Pencillin - we had always had Norton before. If that is the problem, do I have to change? | | Re: Vista Home Premium - Windows Mail A recent version of the Trend antivirus software program (details not available) causes various problems in Windows Mail. So do most versions of the Norton and McAfee antivirus programs, although seldom immediately. For these programs, just disabling part of the program or all of it is not enough; you have to uninstall them instead. You may then need to start Windows Mail, remove your email account, then restart Windows Mail and create the account again. If this cures your problem, you may want a replacement antivirus program that doesn't cause such problems. I recommend either avast! or AVG, either one with a custom install that tells it to leave out the part that scans email. http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0?prd=aff "Candy Sue" <CandySue@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:85497482-C964-42B3-9FDE-A4799BF1B31B@xxxxxx Quote: > My Dell came with Trend Micro Pencillin - we had always had Norton before. > If that is the problem, do I have to change?
