Expanding files!

Greetings All!

I imported a rather large number of DBX files from Outlook Express 6 to my new Vista machine. These files are saved locally on the Vista machine... in Windows mail. That said, whenever I synchronize the various newsgroups on my machine... the locally saved files began expanding... all by themselves! I know it sounds odd but, that's what happens. That said, I have tried to delete the offending files on my the Vista machine but, up to this point I have been unable to do so.

My local computer guru (actually the guy who owns a local computer store... who built the machine) seems to believe that because the DBX files were loaded during the indexing process on the new Vista machine... the DBX files got indexed multiple times... and thus the problem noted above.

Anyone have any insight into this? Ever experienced this problem before? Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Patrick
