| | hotmail/windows live compatibility and windows mail I use Hotmail for email, and when I switched to Windows Vista and wanted to send email from within a running program eg. sending photos to friends, Vista says it no longer supports Hotmail or other http based mail programs. The solution, they posted, was to install Windows Live Mail, which I have done. However, the problem persists. The email program I get when trying to send mail from within another program is Windows Mail, which I do not use. Any suggestions as to how I can overcome this issue? Thanks |

| | Re: hotmail/windows live compatibility and windows mail Make sure your preferred email program has all its defaults assigned. Open the Default Programs applet, which you can access either from the Start menu or via the Control Panel, then click the first item: "Set your default programs." After a few seconds, a list of programs comes up. Click on Windows Live Mail. If it doesn't respond with "This program has all its defaults" then fix it by clicking on the option indicated by the first green arrow. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (WLMail) "Steve" <Steve@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:3DE67E5D-08C7-4C20-957E-01241E7E29BA@xxxxxx Quote: >I use Hotmail for email, and when I switched to Windows Vista and wanted to > send email from within a running program eg. sending photos to friends, Vista > says it no longer supports Hotmail or other http based mail programs.
