I can' receive or send mail

I just bought a new computer. I had the mail program working then did all the
updates and now I can' receive or send mail. Was there an update that messes
up microsoft mail? Help

RE: I can' receive or send mail

Me too. Windows Mail was working fine for a few weeks and then suddenly no
connection. Weirdly an associated website will now also not load for me,
although it loads for others and they can access the mail. Help anyone?

What do you mean by Microsoft Mail? This newsgroup is for problems with
the Windows Mail program that comes with Vista. If that's your email
program,
what if any error messages do you get when you try to send and receive?
Click on the error messages and see if you can copy them to your next
message.

Re: I can' receive or send mail

The error message when I try to log into Windows Mail is this: "The
connection to the server has failed. Account: 'mail.gravesidetales.com',
Server: 'mail.gravesidetales.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL):
No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E." I cannot get a browser
to connect to the website either. I seem to be the only user having this
problem. Any ideas?

Re: I can' receive or send mail

This can mean you've lost your account on that server. You may want to
check.

Re: I can' receive or send mail

Mail is the least of your problems if you can't connect to a website.
Connectivity problems are beyond the scope of this newsgroup.

POP3 is a server on which your e-mail provider store the mail. You should have an in-coming e-mail server ,and an out-going e-mail server. Mine ( in Canada ) are POP and SMTP respectively. Your problem is with your internet service provider. Talk to them. This forum can't help, sorry, and good luck.
