There might be a different port number. Try port 26 for SMTP. Thats port I

The use of port 26 for SMTP is rare among the email servers I've seen
instructions for. It does allow to get around the usual port 25 blockage
for connections that cross over from one internet provider's equipment
to another's, but only if your email server listens for outgoing mail on
that port.

1) When you got that error, were you on a laptop away from home?
2) Which antivirus are you running?
P.S. Do not start changing port numbers to ones different than what
your ISP recommends.

Unplug phone connection for 30seconds and replug.If this doesnt work youll
have to contact your phone company to manuakky fix problem.

> Cheryl L. I got this figured out. I had the secure connections boxes checked. All I needed was pop. telus.net(my provider) and smtpout.telus.net and uncheck the boxes. Everything is working O.K. now . Thanks for your responses. I hope this helps others
