| vista home premium | Outgoing mail server help Hi I have set up an email address in windows mail using my gmail email as my outgoing mail server. Problem I have is that when I send an email it is saying the sender is the outgoing server email and not the email address set up to receive emails. Eg tom@vistax64.com the windows mail address tom@gmail.com (outgoing server) send an email from tom@vistx64.com in Windows mail Recipient sees tom@gmail.com and replies to that I would like them to see tom@vistax64.com Any help much appreciated. Hope you understand what I am on about! Thanks Tom |

Try changing the Reply address: to the address you want to use for mail coming back, then click Apply, then OK, then Close. Restart Windows Mail and send a message to yourself using this account. When you receive it, check the return address. If it's not what you want, try this again, except change the E-mail address: line instead. If this causes problems, you may need to change one or both of these addresses back. I suspect that some email servers won't let you send mail with any other return address than the one you use to send it, though. |
