You can make this likely to happen by clicking on Tools, then Options, then Send. Click on the box before Send messages immediately, then Apply. If this does not leave a check mark in the box, do it again. Click OK. Also, it sometimes helps to click on Tools, then Accounts. Do this for each email account you have: Click on the account, then Properties. If there is no check mark in the box before Include this account when receiving mail or synchronizing, click on this box, then Apply. Click on OK, then go to the next email account if there is one. After the last email account, click on Close. |

| | Re: Can't send using 'send & receive' but will... AVG can cause problems if it was installed using the default install option. Uninstall it, then reinstall using the custom install option, which allows you to forego installation of the mail scanning module. If this does not fix the problem, I suggest upgrading to WLM: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (WLMail) "sweetbriar6" <sweetbriar6.36zx52@xxxxxx-mx.forums.net> wrote in message news:sweetbriar6.36zx52@xxxxxx-mx.forums.net... | | Re: Can't send using 'send & receive' but will... I had the same problem and I found this solution which worked for me and which was posted by Zachary on 12/18/2007 at 9.58pm PST: The deleted Account returns when you restart Windows Mail but the problem has gone!!: I figured it out! It's the "Microsoft Communities" folder at the bottom!!! When it downloads your e-mails it's also trying to download postings into the Microsoft Communities folder, but if you don't have that set up then it won't be able to. And so there's an error message, but it doesn't know how to tell you what's wrong. The solution is simple, click on "Microsoft Communities" with your right mouse button and select "Remove Account". Confirm that you want to remove the account and the problem is solved!
