Are all other programs that access the picture files closed before you try
to attach the picture file in Windows Mail? It has a hard time attaching
files that are open in some other program.

Barb, you did not read carefully what Gary wrote about Rick's problem. He said : un-check " do not allow attachments ---" and un-check " block images ----". After that, click APPLY, then OK.
Please reply if problem solved. Thank you.

Re: pictures cannot be found ....

Ok, I unchecked them both. One of them said something about attachments that
may allow viruses, if I uncheck that one, aren't I opening my computer to
viruses? Thanks.

Barb, I understand your concerns, and I do not have enough knowledge to address that, eventhough we have enough programs against vitruses ,ie firewalls, anti-virus program(s) etc that we have installed to protect our computers, I don't see there is any problem. Of course you would want to post that particular concern to the experts in this forum. Meanwhile I can only suggest that after you have read your attachments, re-check that box if that will ease your mind. Thank you.

Re: pictures cannot be found ....

Everything in life is a trade-off. Sometimes you have to accept
slightly increased risk in order to get much improved functionality.
In my opinion, a good antivirus will block any attachments that
contain viruses. Also, you should only open attachments that you
expected, from sources you trust.
