email sending problems

It took about 5 months to develop. I have Norton 2007, spy sweeper, and road
runner internet. It now takes for ever if I want to send attachments, for it
to fail right at the end. sorry i didnt copy my error but its usually lsays
oses connection with server is the error. if i am lucky if i just send a few
words the email sends other wise i have to send my emails thru the road
runner internet site. I call roadrunner and they say i have a corrupt file.
im not sure which way to go on this any help would be appreciated.

RE: email sending problems

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: 'pop-server.tampabay.rr.com', Server:
'smtp-server.tampabay.rr.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No,
Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

This is the error i got as i sent 2 emails at the same time. The first one
was with 3 attachments that actually went thru but took for ever. the
attachments were small 3 scanned papers. As i sent this i replied to
someone's email at the same time and got this error.

For many Windows Mail problems caused by a Norton antivirus
program, just disabling the Norton program is not enough. You
have to uninstall it instead. You then often have to run this cleanup
program to take care of what the uninstall left behind:

<http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039>

You even sometimes need to remove your email account under
Windows Mail, then restart Windows Mail and add the account
again.

Such problems often take months to appear.

If you have any messages that won't leave your Outbox, won't
move to the Drafts folder, and won't delete, download and
install this hotfix, with Windows Mail not running:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

Although it's labelled as for messages stuck in the Outbox, it also works in
other folders. If you don't know whether you have a 32-bit version of
Vista or a 64-bit version, try the hotfix for the 32-bit version first.
Certain
common antivirus programs, such as most of those from Norton or McAfee,
tend to cause stuck messages and other problems in Windows Mail, so if
you have such a program, remember where to find the hotfix and hope it
will install again if you need it again.

If this solves your problem, you may want a replacement antivirus program
that doesn't cause such problems. I recommend avast! or AVG, either one
with a custom install that tells it to leave out the part that scans email.

Some people might disagree with me, I'll say Norton is your culprit. Norton is what I call " an interferring s.o.b ". If you care to experiment, download a free antivirus program from the internet, unintall Norton (if you can, it's stubborn ), and send your e-mail with attachment. See what happens. If you try that, please let me know the result.

Re: email sending problems

You may need to check whether the Google Toolbar program is
installed, and if so, uninstall it. It causes problems in Windows
Mail.

Also a few antispyware programs and other security programs
sometimes cause problems in Windows Mail. What if any such
programs do you have?
