Re: unable to send but can recieve

Hi Gary
read your response and resent original error. read yours and other
potential remedies in other news groups and tried changing the port ,error
message comes back the same. Also tried turning off windows defender in case
that was it and it's spyware. error message never changes.
The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'hello', Account: 'orange',
Server: 'SMTP.orange.co.uk', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 587, Secure(SSL): No,
Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
anything else i can try?

Re: unable to send but can recieve

Some servers are case sensitive. Try setting "smtp" and "pop" while you are
at it, to lower case. Oh, and make sure "this server requires
authentication" is off. Double check this against your provider's e-mail
help setup web page.

Re: unable to send but can recieve

Oh dear, this is all that I see of this thread, not sure where the rest went
to?

Tools>accounts>select your account>properties>
Change your server settings to :
pop.freeserve.com
smtp.freeserve.com
On the advanced tab the Outgoing port should be 25.
Apply and OK all changes.

Re: unable to send but can recieve

not sure if this will help but I use comcast and they changed to where the
server needs authentication and a code was 587 and that allows you to send
thru their server.
