| | windows mail vista home prem. error sending I am getting a similar error to others when sending on windows mail 0x800cc19. I tried setting the SMTP to 587 and enabling server authentification. It did not work. I am using verizon. I don't like using the ISP version of mail and would really like to be able to send again. Thanks. -- LAL |

| | Re: windows mail vista home prem. error sending Thanks Robert, but their website has not been helpful. I am set up correctly. I have been using Vista home prem. for over a year with the windows mail and at the beginning of March of this year is when this problem started, out of the blue. No where on verizon's web site have I found any useful information. -- LAL "robertmiles@xxxxxx" wrote: Quote: > > "Lisa A Litsch" <lal@xxxxxx> wrote in message > news:9EAF1CF7-2C76-4D92-856B-C8115E2D8706@xxxxxx Quote: > >I am getting a similar error to others when sending on windows mail > > 0x800cc19. | | Re: windows mail vista home prem. error sending Your settings look fine. However, there should have been a sentence or two at the start of the error message, such as "A timeout occurred while communicating with the SMTP server." Without that information I will make an educated guess and predict that you are running non-compatible security software from McAfee or Norton. As a test, uninstall that security software, reboot, then try Windows Mail again. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (WLMail) "Lisa A Litsch" <lal@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:56D0C4E0-24CC-4741-B2D7-F6D0A9E1D2FA@xxxxxx Quote: > Subject 'Re: fun thing to do', Account: 'incoming.verizon.net', Server: > 'outgoing.verizon.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 587, Secure(SSL): No, Error > Number: 0x800CCC15 > > I also seem to always get a different error #. > -- > LAL > > > "Gary VanderMolen" wrote: > Quote: >> Please copy and post the complete error message. >> >> -- >> Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (WLMail) >> >> >> "Lisa A Litsch" <lal@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:442FF0AF-B372-43A4-9C74-1907CB0B94E4@xxxxxx Quote: >> > Thanks Robert, but their website has not been helpful. | | Re: windows mail vista home prem. error sending I removed the software (Trend Micro Internet Security), re-booted, and still get the send error. I am going to re-install the virus protection. A recent version of the Trend antivirus program (details not available) is also known to cause problems in Windows Mail. | | Re: windows mail vista home prem. error sending By "removed" I hope you mean you used the proper uninstall utility instead of just deleting the program from the C:\Program Files folder. Your error message ("...unexpectedly terminated...") almost always means interference from a third party security program.
