don't want windows mail as my default email account

I do not have a windows email account or IMAP or any of those other terms i'm
getting. I just have a standard yahoo email account which I do not pay for.
Every time I click on a link to send an email from a websitemy windows email
pops up and i can't send the email because the servers aren't correct,
errors..etc. I just want to know if there is a way 2 just completely stop my
computer from using windows and microsoft as my default to send emails??? I
have alltel wireless internet and i'm way too frustrated i just found out
what IMAP and POP3 were, lol. SOMEBODY HELP!!!!!!! PLEASE!!

Courtney,

You might want to download windows live mail, here's a link: Windows Live Mail

And then look at this link for instructions on how to use your free yahoo account with windows live mail: How to Access Free Yahoo! Mail with Windows Live Mail - About Email

Provided it works, when you click a mail to link, it should pop up with windows live mail which you configured to work with your free yahoo account.

I hope this helps.
