    Some errors occurred

My previous message doesn't seem to have gone out. If this proves to be a
    duplicate, please delete or ignore.

Every time I try to send email, after the first time, I get the following
error message: "Some errors occurred while processing the required tasks.
Please review the list of errors below for more details." The errors tab
shows no errors. This does not happen if I click on Receive All, but only
when I click on Send All or Send and Receive. When I close Windows Mail, it
offers to send the pending emails, and does, although it won't when I click
on Send. If I close Windows Mail and restart it, the email will also send --
    the first time.

fyi, I use Avant 4.8 Pro antivirus. My SpySweeper program does not have AV
installed and I have the email shield turned off. I am using Vista Ultimate
    32 with all updates.

    Please advise. Thank you.

    Re: Some errors occurred

It sounds as if you need to receive prior to sending with your ISP. Some
require that. Try going to Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Settings
and check the box that says your server requires authentication. Then it
will authenticate prior to sending and that might fix the issue.

    Re: Some errors occurred

Thanks for the suggestion, but no joy. My server already required
authentication, but I unchecked the box that says use the same server as for
incoming mail, and checked the next one, and entered the required data. It
made no change in the problem.

However, I did notice that, after starting WMail, if I first do Receive
only, then do Send only, I get the same error message, even though it is the
first time I've tried send since starting WMail. Send works the first time
only if I have not yet done a Receive. I am inclined to think Receive is not
hanging up correctly, or whatever it does when finishing.

    Re: Some errors occurred

As a test, uninstall your antivirus, reboot, then try Windows Mail again.
You may have to try this with SpySweeper also.
Even with email scanning turned off, some third party security programs
have hooks into the Windows TCP/IP stack, which can cause problems
    for Windows Mail.

I did, without success. I first uninstalled Avant 4.8 Pro, rebooted: Some
errors occurred. I then uninstalled SpySweeper, rebooted: Some errors
    occurred.

    what next?

There are a few programs that cause such problems, but less often. If you
have any programs with SMS in their names installed, tell us their full
names. Also, if the Google Toolbar program in installed, uninstall it.

On the possibility that your mail account has been corrupted,
delete the account, restart Windows Mail, then recreate that account.

If still no improvement, upgrade to Windows Live Mail:

    Re: Some errors occurred

You can enable a log file under Tools | Options | Advanced | Maintenance and
that might help you diagnose the problem, although it may not help fix it.
Make sure you turn off the logging eventually, as otherwise the file grows
    enormously and slows performance.

I have no SMS programs installed. I removed Google Toolbar and Update, but
    no help.

I did so, but I'm not sure which file it is. Neither the pop3.log nor the
smtp.log file show anything pertaining to unsuccessful attempts to send
email (some errors occurred), but only record successful efforts.
