| | Trouble sending e-mail I can receive but cannot send e-mail. Here is the error message that I get. I've checked all of my settings and they appear to be correct. The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the "I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider. The rejected e-mail address was 'rebecca_gripp@xxxxxx'. Subject 'test', Account: 'mail.comcast.net', Server: 'smtp.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 5.1.1 <rebecca_gripp@xxxxxx> recipient invalid domain', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79 |

Also, that address is missing at least one period somewhere after the @ sign, probably just before com. |

| | RE: Trouble sending e-mail Sam I am having trouble sending e-mail also. I get my e-mail just fine. This problem started April 1, or I didn't notice until then, I downloaded and installed Vista SP1 on March 30. What is my solution? | | Re: Trouble sending e-mail Your settings look fine, and I was able to connect with that server (smtp.urhere.net). Windows Defender does not cause this problem. The most likely culprit is Trend Micro antivirus, even though you have it turned off. As a test, uninstall that antivirus, reboot, then try Windows Mail again. If no improvement, upgrade to Windows Live Mail: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (WLMail) "Rick" <rickluc@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:uy8FnW2nIHA.4212@xxxxxx Quote: > Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection.
