Trouble sending e-mail

I can receive but cannot send e-mail. Here is the error message that I get.
I've checked all of my settings and they appear to be correct.
The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was 'rebecca_gripp@xxxxxx'. Subject 'test',
Account: 'mail.comcast.net', Server: 'smtp.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP,
Server Response: '550 5.1.1 <rebecca_gripp@xxxxxx> recipient invalid
domain', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number:
0x800CCC79

Look at that email address. Many email servers are unable to handle
addresses
with a space inside the address. Also, that address is missing at least one
period
somewhere after the @ sign, probably just before com.

Re: Trouble sending e-mail

As the error message says, the domain portion of that email address
is not valid. It should be rebecca_gripp@xxxxxx.
Note the required period in front of 'com'.

RE: Trouble sending e-mail

Sam

I am having trouble sending e-mail also. I get my e-mail just fine. This
problem started April 1, or I didn't notice until then, I downloaded and
installed Vista SP1 on March 30. What is my solution? Thanks

Re: Trouble sending e-mail

What if any antivirus programs, antispyware programs, firewall programs,
and other security programs do you have? Some of them start causing
more problems if you have Vista SP1 installed.

Re: Trouble sending e-mail

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Subject 'Testing e-mail again', Account: 'Rickurhere.net',
Server: 'smtp.urhere.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error
Number: 0x800CCC0F

I have been removing messages after this error message comes up so my outbox
is empty. I have also tryed turning off my antivirus program Micro Trend and
turning off Windows Defender with no help in my situation. Thanks

Re: Trouble sending e-mail

Your settings look fine, and I was able to connect with that server
(smtp.urhere.net).

Windows Defender does not cause this problem. The most likely culprit
is Trend Micro antivirus, even though you have it turned off. As a test,
uninstall that antivirus, reboot, then try Windows Mail again.
If no improvement, upgrade to Windows Live Mail:
