| | Not logged in as administrator The full message I am receiving is "You are not currently logged into your computer as an Administrator. This installer requires that the user be logged in as an Administrator. Please log out and log back in as an Administrator and then restart the installer." I get the message which is "powered by SupportSoft" about every minute when I have my email open. Also it does it when i close out email. I cannot send anything from my Windows mail because it says "the connection to the server has failed, Subject "registratino", Account:RoadRunner.com, protocol:smtp, port:25, secure (ssl) no, socket error:10060, error number 0x0800CCC0e. Please help, this is driving me crazy.... -- kelleyc4 |

If so, such connections to port 25 are often blocked to cause problems for spammers, and you need to ask Roadrunner if their outgoing email server listens for outgoing mail on any port other than port 25, and if so, where to find the details of switching to the other port. Just trying all the ports is a very slow way to find out, since there are about 65,000 ports available. See if this helps you find suitable instructions: <http://help.rr.com/AA/rrwho.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fHMSLogic%2femail_help_topic.aspx%3ftopic%3dE%2bmail&topic=E+mail> You'll have to find someone else for help with your problem with complaints that you are not logged in as an Administrator. |

| | Re: Not logged in as administrator Sounds like you have two separate problems. Which antivirus program are you running? Some of them will cause that error message. SupportSoft is a company that supplies installation utilities for many different companies. For example, see http://www.broadbandweek.com/news/02...om_comcast.htm Did you recently download some software from your ISP? The only suggestion I have is to search for that offending utility by going through the startup tab of MSCONFIG, and by looking at the list of installed programs for ones you don't need (Control Panel, Programs & Features). -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (WLMail) "honestly-iam" <honestlyiam@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:44D7929B-540B-4E4B-8C22-E3CC587863F4@xxxxxx Quote: > The full message I am receiving is "You are not currently logged into your > computer as an Administrator. | | Re: Not logged in as administrator I am using AVG Free. I have been told by 2 different people who work on computers for a living that AVG is best for Vista. I had the problem before I downloaded AVG. -- kelleyc4 "Gary VanderMolen" wrote: Quote: > Sounds like you have two separate problems. > Which antivirus program are you running? | | Re: Not logged in as administrator I don't know about 'best', but AVG is more compatible with Vista's Windows Mail than several other popular antivirus products. However, in order for it to be trouble-free, AVG must be installed using the custom install option, which then allows you to decline installation of the mail scanning module. If you installed AVG using the standard install, uninstall it, and reinstall as I indicated. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (WLMail) "honestly-iam" <honestlyiam@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:6B2B5D67-52A0-4CEC-973B-2795E70C166D@xxxxxx Quote: >I am using AVG Free.
