cannot send mail

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Subject 'FUTURE WARIOR', Account: 'mail.comcast.net', Server:
'smtp.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 587, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number:
0x800CCC0F
(This is the error that I get when I try to send mail.What can I do to
resolve this?I'm thinking about buying a MAC!)

See if these instructions help:

<http://help.comcast.net/content/faq/How-to-configure-Windows-Mail-for-Vista-to-use-port-587-for-sending-email>

Comcast is gradually forcing all its users to switch to port 587, but
has been poor at telling the users this in advance.

Re: cannot send mail

No, Comcast does not use Secure Password Authentication.
However, "My server requires authentication" should be checked.
Those are two different settings. The first affects receiving, the second
affects sending.
