| | unable to delete files How do I remove/delete files from my Windows Mail folder that I already deleted and cleared from "Deleted Items" folder in Windows Mail? These files are accessed by typing "Windows Mail" in the "Search" box. I am running Windows Vista and IE7, SP1 is installed and I have tried to download Vista update 941090 and got the reply"The update dos not apply to your system". The files that I want to delete are not causing any problem, but I would like to get rid of the headers which still appear. I can only access these files by typing "Windows Mail" in the "search" box. .....Thanks |

| | Re: unable to delete files When Search finds that deleted email, are you actually able to read the body text of that deleted email? I think it just has the header info. It will take time for the search cache to get updated. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (WLMail) "Bill Senn" <hihandicap@xxxxxx> wrote in message news KSdnQlCVbMjUpHVnZ2dnUVZ_v2dnZ2d@xxxxxxQuote: > How do I remove/delete files from my Windows Mail folder that I already > deleted and cleared from "Deleted Items" folder in Windows Mail? > These files are accessed by typing "Windows Mail" in the "Search" box. | | Re: unable to delete files If you have SP1, then you already have the update. There is likely a mismatch between the WinMail database and the message store. Perhaps antivirus software deleted the messages and the database still thinks they are there. Try compacting and repairing the database using my Windows mail utility (www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/) and see if that helps at all. steve "Bill Senn" <hihandicap@xxxxxx> wrote in message news KSdnQlCVbMjUpHVnZ2dnUVZ_v2dnZ2d@xxxxxxQuote: > How do I remove/delete files from my Windows Mail folder that I already > deleted and cleared from "Deleted Items" folder in Windows Mail? > These files are accessed by typing "Windows Mail" in the "Search" box.
