Vista Mail won't leave original email on host server

Windows Mail downloads from my Yahoo Plus account, but will not leave a copy
there. In Outlook Express I could receive only new messages, but the older
ones stayed on Yahoo, where I can have a record of email usage. Now I must
go into Yahoo because if I click on Vista Mail, it will download hundreds of
emails and leave nothin behind. I've been told that Yahoo Plus is not yet
compatible with Windows Vista. How could they replace Outlook Express with a
system that doesn't do what OE did in the first place? Any suggestions?

You may want to break your connection to the internet while you do this:
Start Windows Mail, then click Tools, then Accounts, then your email
account, then Properties, then Advanced. If there is no checkmark in
the box before Leave a copy of messages on server, click on this box,
then Apply. It's a good idea to also select one of the options for
eventually removing the messages from the server, then click Apply.
    Click OK, then Close.

This should make Windows Mail at least try to leave a copy of the
messages on the server, but not all mail servers obey such requests.

Yahoo Mail Plus is fully compatible with Vista.
Windows Mail does pretty much everything that OE did.
You don't have Windows Mail configured to leave messages on the
server. Apparently you made this setup change in OE so long ago
    that you don't remember.

It is generally not good practice to leave old emails to accumulate
on the server indefinitely, because server access will become slower
    and slower.
