If so, such connections to port 25 are likely to be blocked to cause trouble for spammers, and you need to ask angellakes.org if their outgoing mail server listens for outgoing mail on any port other than port 25, and if so, where to find the details of switching to the other port. Just trying all the ports is a very slow way to find out, since there are about 65,000 ports available and few email providers have set their outgoing mail servers to listen for outgoing mail on more than a few of them. |

| | Re: Protocol SMTP, Port - Can't send messages That does not look like an Outlook error message. It looks like a Windows Mail error message. Angellakes.org is not an ISP. Therefore, your real ISP will block any attempt to use an external SMTP server on port 25. This anti-spammer policy is explained here: http://www.postcastserver.com/help/P..._Blocking.aspx I can give you some workarounds, but I will need to know if you use a laptop away from home, or whether this problem occurs on a stationary PC. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP "Angel" <Angel@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:AC468A19-7756-4A4B-9440-A5F805ADA6F6@xxxxxx Quote: > does anyone know what this means.
