Windows Mail and AVG 8.0

Since installing the new AVG , I cant open PDF /mpeg/.wmv / or any
attachment from microsoft office...etc... Until I downloaded this new Avg I
could open ALL... If I do a customize download and OMIT the email scanner..
isnt that defeating the MAIN purpose of protecting yourself from unwanted
virus emails?? This seems to only bother VISTA.. I have XP on another
comuter and it works fine>> Id appreciate any help

Viruses in email don't cause problems until they try to escape from the
email.
They can then be detected soon enough.

Re: Windows Mail and AVG 8.0

Windows Mail is prone to interference from antivirus programs.
Antivirus email scanning should be disabled for any email program.
Email scanning is redundant and unnecessary. Even the originator of
the email scanning concept, Symantec, admits so:
