Junk Email Not Going to Junk E-Mail Folder

Some junk email with the same From goes into my Junk E-Mail folder
but some do not. Seems if Windows Mail 'sees' pone as junk it should see
the other.
Also, I've created a message rule for mail designating a certain word that
if
appears in the From line send it to the Deleted Items folder but this is not
working.
Email with the exact word remains in my inbox and does not get sent to my
Deleted Items folder.

Any help will be appreciated,
James

Re: Junk Email Not Going to Junk E-Mail Folder

Junk E-mail filters don't look at the From address. Filtering is based
on message content.

Make sure each of your message rules is terminated by "Stop
processing more rules."

Re: Junk Email Not Going to Junk E-Mail Folder

Sorry 'bout the delay.
If that's the case why does Windows Mail allow one to create
a message rule using the 'From' field??

Re: Junk Email Not Going to Junk E-Mail Folder

Apparantly because some people not very far into junk mail
yet keep using the same return address, and therefore mail
message rules can eliminate anything from them.

Re: Junk Email Not Going to Junk E-Mail Folder

The message rules you can create are totally separate from
the spam filters that are built-in to Windows Mail. The built-in
spam filters are not user-adjustable.
The built-in spam filters don't look at the 'From' address
because that would be a waste of time. Spammers change their
From address more frequently than we change our underwear.

Message rules are user-created and user-adjustable. They
really are not suitable for general anti-spam use. A typical
use for message rules is to sort incoming non-spam mail into
different inbox folders.
