| | windows mail When I send e-mails, my name shows up on the "From" line as well as my email address. My name also shows up in big letters and underlined at the top of the email when I print it. Is there a way in windows mail to keep my name from showing up in both of these places? In the Help & Support, it says that I can leave the display name blank, but when I try that it will not allow me to. Can anyone help me with this? |

| | Re: windows mail Thank you for your help. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but I still cannot get this to work. Is there a special way I need to do the 'space' characters? I just used the space bar several times. Also, am I going into the right place? I went to 'Tools', then 'Accounts', then 'Mail', then 'Add', then 'E-mail', then the display name came up and I put in the spaces. It would not let me click on 'Next', so I tried 'Enter' and it still will not let me go any farther without putting in a name. I would really appreciate any help and/or suggestions. Thank you. | | Re: windows mail It may be objecting to using a blank display name. See if if will let you use a single non-blank character, such as a period. | | Re: windows mail You are correct, it will not accept space characters as a valid name. It will accept a single period, so perhaps you can use that. Instead of creating a new mail account, why not edit your existing account? Tools, Accounts, select your mail account, Properties. On the General tab change the Name information as desired. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP "Cody" <Cody@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:B4D71422-3C8E-4EE7-84A6-FACEB9975122@xxxxxx Quote: > Thank you for your help.
