Windows mail - setting up an account from another mail server

Hi,
I have a question about setting up an account from other than my isp, ex:
comcast. I am a volunteer at a christmas website and I need to set up an
account. When I set it up the same as I did in outlook express I get the
error message that my login has failed. However, I can access the account on
webmai.

Thanks for your help and I hope I did this right have never joined a
newsgroup.

If you get a error message, copy and post it here.

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'test', Account: 'pop.bluewin.ch', Server: 'mail.bluewin.ch', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Many of us who respond frequently use a method of accessing the newsgroup
that has some advantages, but makes it difficult to go back to previous
messages
in the thread to see what was said before if you don't quote them.

Does your connection to that server cross over from one internet provider's
equipment to another's before it reaches the server? If so, such
connections
are often blocked if they use port 25, to cause problems for spammers.
In such a case, you should ask bluewin.ch if their outgoing mail server
allows
you to use some other port instead, and if so, where to find their
instructions
for switching to the other port. Just trying all the ports is a very slow
way to
find out, since there are about 65,000 ports available and it's unlikely
that
more that a few of them will accept outgoing mail.

Was Bluewin.ch providing your Internet connection when you
got that error message? If the connection was being provided
by another provider, that would explain the problem, see
