| | Windows Mail Addons Are there any Newsgroup filter addons. The one built in is quite poor & still downloads the message headers from people you filter. I've tried thunderbird but you can't apply filters to messages you have already downloaded and can't reset the server like you can in windows mail. TIA Dave |

| | Re: Windows Mail Addons There is no such add-on for Windows Mail. Assuming your filter rule is written properly, it should work. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP "Dave" <dot@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:%23Y5j7utyIHA.4864@xxxxxx Quote: > Are there any Newsgroup filter addons. | | Re: Windows Mail Addons No, it's pretty poor compared to Outlook Express. I have the rules set to if x criteria is true, delete it. Even then the post headers still appear but the content is some form of a 'Page Cannot Be Displayed' message. | | Re: Windows Mail Addons I've seen a few programs offered to sit outside Windows Mail but offer some filtering options there. You might want to look at: http://www.nfilter.org/ http://acfwiki.pbwiki.com/Filtering%20with%20NewsProxy http://www.fitnwell.net/nfilter.htm http://www.geocities.com/d4vidb/x_setup11.html http://www.nfilter.org/faq.html It isn't clear that all of these will run under Vista, though, so you might have to try a few of these before you find one that will work. | | Re: Windows Mail Addons I don't have any news rules that delete anything, but I have one rule that colors a post red if it was posted by myself or a Microsoft rep, and that works fine. Make sure every rule is terminated by "Stop processing more rules." -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP "Dave" <dot@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:umJkU2zyIHA.5716@xxxxxx Quote: > No, it's pretty poor compared to Outlook Express.
