how can i transfer a windows mail folder ( and about 30 sub folders) to a usb
drive.

ultimatley, from there i'd like to import them into MS outlook on another
computer. if that can't be done, i can use windows mail on the other one.

Re: transfer windows mail folder to a usb drive

In order to transfer mail to OL both apps have to be set up on the same PC,
and Mail or OE has to have the msg store configured/connected

Re: transfer windows mail folder to a usb drive

unfortunately, i can't have both programs on the same computer. i am taking
over accounts that were the responsbility of another former employee. as
part of the transistion process, the former employee has agreed to allow me
to export the files related to his work with the company (i don't want his
entire email account - he has many personal files that aren't my business.).

I have figured out how to export certain folders to the usb drive.

my remaining question is how can i import these folders into MS outlook 2003
that i am using on my computer?

Thanks.

Re: transfer windows mail folder to a usb drive

Also, Windows Mail often has problems accessing external drives, so you
may have to transfer them first to an empty directory you create on your
hard drive, then copy that directory and all of its contents to the USB
drive.

Re: transfer windows mail folder to a usb drive

You'll probably have to ask in a newsgroup meant for questions about
Outlook, such as:

microsoft.public.outlook.general
microsoft.public.outlook.installation
