| | 0x800CCC0E error message I have been on the phone for over 3 hours with different tech people today. I am worse off than before I started. I am using Windows Mail. I have read lots of discussions and I know that my account settings are correct according to my internet provider. I have disabled the e-mail settings on my AVG anti-virus. I have turned off the windows firewall. This is now the message that I am receiving. I need help. I just want to use windows mail cause I hate the e-mail service via the internet. The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'pop3.live.com', Server: 'pop3.live.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E -- frustratedinaz Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com |

You can download and install Windows Live Mail, which can handle the HTTP protocol: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview |

| | Re: 0x800CCC0E error message Is this a free Live.com account? If so, it doesn't have POP access. Windows Live Mail, however, will accommodate your Live.com account. Start a new account in WLM, and when you give it your Live.com email address it will automatically set up the correct server settings. http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP "frustratedinaz" <frustratedinaz.3atlcc@xxxxxx-mx.forums.vistaheads.com> wrote in message news:frustratedinaz.3atlcc@xxxxxx-mx.forums.vistaheads.com... | | Re: 0x800CCC0E error message This is how my service provider told me to set things up 6 months ago when I started using this computer with Vista and Windows Mail. It has been working fine up until today. -- frustratedinaz Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com |
