Windows Mail

I have problems sending mail. I get a message from McAfee stating "
One or more e-mail messages cannot be sent"

The messages actually go to the outbox, then to the sent box and several minutes later this message appears.

What does it mean
"After you verify the format of your recipient addresses, McAfee recommends that you resend those messages from your e-mail program. "

What is preventing the mail from sending, and most important- how to correct.

Any help will be appreciated.

Re: Windows Mail

If you allow McAfee to mess with your email, you can expect
many more problems with Windows Mail in the future.
As a minimum, any integration of McAfee with email functions
must be disabled. Often this is not sufficient to alleviate all
problems, and McAfee will need to be uninstalled. Follow that
up with their special debris removal tool:
http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocumen...107083&lc=1033

Like Norton, McAfee developers can't even write a functional uninstall
routine for their haywire antivirus program.

Since McAfee distorts the actual error message from Windows Mail,
give us the new (correct) error message from Windows Mail after
McAfee is uninstalled.

Hi Steve,

Turn off all email scanning and filtering options in McAfee. Windows Mail is very sensitive to these type of 3rd party options and will usuallu not work properly with them turned on.

For more on this see the First and Second section here:

Windows Mail problems

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Re: Windows Mail

I also had an issue with pre-installed McAfee anti-virus software when I
bought a new Toshiba laptop with Vista and winMail. It was putting
questionable messages in a hidden JUNK folder that I could not retrieve from.
Had trouble but finally uninstalled McAfee and cleaned the registry.
Installed Norton360v2 (never v1)and things are fine now.

Re: Windows Mail

Norton 360 will eventually cause problems with your Windows Mail.

Hi Huskybytes,

I'm glad to hear everything is fine now, but I agree with Gary's post above. Windows Mail usually does not work well with any 3rd party filtering programs.
