| | Text/Cursor Jumps to other lines as typing For some reason, as I am typing text in Vista WinMail, the cursor moves to lines already typed or to a spot in the message I am replying to and my text appears there rather than in the sentence I am creating. The beginning of a sentence ends up where I want it; but several words suddenly begin appearing elsehwere until I realize this. I then have to cut and paste it back to its correct position. I have a disability affecting my dexterity and suspect I am accidently using keystroke shortcuts I am not aware of. I have not been able to ascertain what combination of keys I am hitting. This is not happening in any other word processing I do, only email. Would appreciate any ideas on what keys might be causing this aggravating problem. It is a great waste of my energy and happens a few times during each message. --- Joe --- |

| | Re: Text/Cursor Jumps to other lines as typing Is this a laptop? If so, check the mouse driver in Control Panel for settings controlling 'palm check' and inhibiting cursor movement while typing. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP "joelee" <u44235@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:85bdcb6f65345@xxxxxx Quote: > For some reason, as I am typing text in Vista WinMail, the cursor moves to > lines already typed or to a spot in the message I am replying to and my text > appears there rather than in the sentence I am creating. | | Re: Text/Cursor Jumps to other lines as typing Gary, I use an Acer Notebook. I will check this out. I also use a program called Steady Mouse which reduces affects of tremor and reduces strain when moving the mouse. Did not think of this as a mouse issue, since it doesn't happen in WP applications. --- Joe --- Gary VanderMolen wrote: Quote: >Is this a laptop? | | Re: Text/Cursor Jumps to other lines as typing I'm not aware of anything in Windows Mail that could cause that issue. To be sure, a non-compatible antivirus can cause assorted strange symptoms, so that would be something to look at if the touchpad settings don't pan out. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP "joelee" <u44235@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:85be5f721b20f@xxxxxx Quote: > Gary, > > I use an Acer Notebook.
