| | Reading email on another computer I have comcast as my email provider. Just today I activated Windows Mail and now all my email from Comcast is coming into Windows Mail, which is what I wanted, but now my Comcast email is empty. So I guess all my email is just being re-directed. My question is when I am not at my computer but on a public computer, how can I access my email? I normally just log onto Comcast.net and go to my email but now none of my mail is in there? Did I do something wrong during set-up? Can I fix this? Or is this just the way it is. |

| | Re: Reading email on another computer By default, a POP email program will delete messages from the server after successfully downloading them. This hails back to the days when server mailbox storage space was limited. To change that default: Go to Tools, Accounts, select the account, Properties, Advanced, enable "Leave a copy of messages on server." Depending on how much storage space Comcast allows, you may want to select one or both of the two associated 'remove' options. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "withers0705" <withers0705@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:A4CA876D-1323-42D9-93E2-D2FA2B5D4975@xxxxxx Quote: >I have comcast as my email provider. | | Re: Reading email on another computer For those who don't know, UK's 3mobile is a 3G cellular/wireless type of internet service, similar to the AirCard service offered by Verizon in the US. I don't know enough about 3mobile to tell you if it offers its own SMTP server, which would be ideal for your situation. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "electra" <electra@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:E0022063-86BB-460C-95A2-6D1D5BB939F9@xxxxxx Quote: > Thanks Gary I too have 3mobile and cannot send on Win Mail so if I access Win > mail I have lost it on my webmail this will make my life a lot easier, access > on Win mail and reply on webmail,I hope. > I have only just found out about sleep instead of shut down ,boy does my > laptop behave better. > I also managed to download Vista service pack today after trying for weks do > not know how or why it decided to but it did. > > > "Gary VanderMolen" wrote: > Quote: >> By default, a POP email program will delete messages from the server >> after successfully downloading them.
