There are several suggestions over at
alt.online-services.roadrunner
I'm using Giganews, but it's not free ($8-20/mo)

You can Google free usenet servers. A lot of them offer different access,
some free. Some offer only a handful of groups, while others have a lot
more. Some limit the bandwidth a bit more than others.
http://www.newsservers.net/FreeNewsServers.php is a good site with servers,
speeds, locations, groups, posting allowed, etc..
As you'll see, some are very limited. Giganews seems to be the best for a
pay solution, and it isn't that much if usenet is your thing.

You are posting in a Microsoft newsgroup
so maybe the following Microsoft server
would be useful to you:
msnews.microsoft.com
For Usenet...you might try:
Aioe.org News Server
http://news.aioe.org/
nntp.aioe.org

My ISP (Time Warner) just did the same thing to me. I signed on to
www.usenet-access.com for $6/mo and found it very fast, and easy to sign on
to. Roving

reliable.
I use msnews.microsoft.com as one of my servers, renamed Microsoft
Communities.
I've seen the following server recommended:
http://www.motzarella.org/
For a list of other free servers, see here:
http://www.newsservers.net/index.php
http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Usenet..._News_Servers/
For a cheap server, see here:
http://www.news.individual.net/
Note that many of the free servers are slow to let you post very much.

trouble with them at first until I found the part for Windows Mail.
http://my.att.net/newsgroups
Click on Newsreader Setup, then the Setup Instructions for Microsoft
Internet Explorer, then follow the instructions for Outlook Express but
in Windows Mail instead, then also follow the instructions for Windows
Mail only at the bottom.
