Define "the easy way"! There is so little difference between Windows Mail
and Outlook Express that WM might be called a clone. If you don't know how
to set it up, it's because you're too lazy to go looking for the necessary
knowledge. You come here all pissy and whiney and expect people to throw
answers at you, to questions you forgot to ask.

You mail service provider has all the info you require, call them. It is,
after all, as easy as setting up a newsreader. I guess someone else did
that for you.

Re: windows mail officially sucks

You've never had an email address or used email before?
It helps if you let us know what email service you've used
previously, if any.

about this outbox email. Very aggrevating and lots of time upsets me. I call
my provider etc. tells me to redo a new connections etc. well, I do, it works
maybe a day than the day after its gone crazy again. Not sure what to do
about all this but I must be some patient or some stupid to use this Windows

You have to choose an email provider and have them set up the account first.
Many people choose their internet providers as their email providers also,
since most internet accounts include one or more email accounts.

The details of how you then set up your computer to connect to that
account depend on which email provider you choose. Either ask them for
instructions, or tell us which email provider you want to use and see if
anyone here knows where to find their instructions.

Unless you work for Microsoft, you aren't likely to get a usable email
address that ends in @microsoft.com. If you do, ask for help at work.

Re: windows mail officially sucks

Which antivirus are you running?
Some of them are not very compatible with Windows Mail, and will
cause assorted problems from time to time.

Re: windows mail officially sucks

Looks like you will eventually need this hotfix:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

Although it's labelled as for mail stuck in the Outbox, it also works in
other folders.

Also, many problems in Windows Mail are caused by interference
from an antivirus program. What if any antivirus programs do you
have, and have you ever had a Norton or McAfee antivirus program
on that computer, even one of the trial versions that often come
already installed on new computers?

Re: windows mail officially sucks

personally don't like it also Norton, I even have Norton disk etc. Not the
same as Avast. I personally don't believe the problem is with antivirus. a

Re: windows mail officially sucks

At least half the Windows Mail problems reported in this newsgroup are
caused by antivirus programs, so you probably need to at least consider
it.

Did you do a default install of avast!? If so, it often helps to uninstall
it,
then do a custom install where you tell it to leave out the parts that scan
email.

http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

The uninstall programs for Norton and McAfee often fail to remove the
parts of these programs that cause problems in Windows Mail, so you
are likely to need to run their cleanup programs if you haven't done this
already:

<http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039>

<http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=107083&lc=4105&partner=McAfee&type=TS&ia=1>

After this, you may also need to remove your email account under Windows
Mail, then restart Windows Mail and add the account again.

If this doesn't solve your problems, we're likely to need to see the entire
error
messages, not just a quick summary of them, to know just what other help you
need. Right click on them and copy the entire error messages to your next
message.

Re: windows mail officially sucks

POP3 email clients have been popular since the 1990s.

It is hardly a computer term that "nobody knows".

Do you need assistance in tying your shoe laces as well?
