| Guest | Disable Junk E-Mail Filter I am trying to permanently disable the Junk E-Mail filter in Windows Mail on Vista, but no matter what I try to do it still moves email to the "Junk Email" folder. This wouldn't be so bad if it were any good at it, but the problem is it moves a LOT of legitimate email. I have missed some very important emails because they are moved to junk. My ISP has a spam filter which is pretty close to perfect (Ironport), so I don't really get spam. I have set to "No Automatic Filtering" in options. I have disabled phishing filter in Internet Options and in Windows Mail. I have deleted all block lists etc. What am I missing? |

| Guest | Re: Disable Junk E-Mail Filter If your Blocked Senders list is empty and you've turned automatic filtering off, nothing should go into the Junk E-mail folder. Are you using an antivirus that has a built-in spam filter? -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "SnowCrash" <SnowCrash@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:50453BDF-FE7D-4A9F-AF69-71B87062527A@xxxxxx Quote: >I am trying to permanently disable the Junk E-Mail filter in Windows Mail on > Vista, but no matter what I try to do it still moves email to the "Junk > Email" folder. | Guest | Re: Disable Junk E-Mail Filter No AV. I have AVG installed, but I specifically didn't install the email scanning component. This issue pre-dates AVG anyway which was a recent install. | Guest | Re: Disable Junk E-Mail Filter Well, you have me stumped then. As always, there is the option of upgrading to the newer Windows live Mail: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "SnowCrash" <SnowCrash@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:777ED163-1384-4244-8EE5-DA76042C9A25@xxxxxx Quote: > No AV. | Guest | Re: Disable Junk E-Mail Filter Did you ever have an antivirus program from either Norton or McAfee on that computer? Even for the free trial versions that often come already installed on new computers, their uninstall programs often fail to remove the parts of those programs that cause problems in Windows Mail.
