Error messages about relaying usually mean that your connection to the
server cross over from one internet provider's equipment to another's
before they reach the server. For wireless connections, this can mean that
your computer has decides to use your neighbor's wireless server today
instead of your own, and therefore the connection starts out through your
neighbor's internet provider's equipment. In such a case, connections to
port 25 are often blocked.

Ask virgin.net if they allow sending outgoing mail through some port
other than port 25, and if so, where to find their instructions for this.
Just trying all the ports is a very slow way to find out, since there are
about 65,000 ports available and it's unlikely that more than a few
of them will accept outgoing mail.

Re: UNABLE TO SEND EMAILS

The problem is that your Internet connection is coming from some
source other than Virgin. Are you sending from a portable laptop
away from home?

Re: UNABLE TO SEND EMAILS

Hi,
Try a hard reset on your wireless router, easiest way is to power the router
down for 30 seconds then turn back on, I had exactly this problem with my
Linksys and a hard reset cured the problem.

Re: UNABLE TO SEND EMAILS

i just recently started having probelms with my email not sending out.
Here is the information that I recieve each time:

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'info for you', Account: 'bluebird', Server: 'smtp.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'unsubscribe me please', Account: 'pinklady', Server: 'smtp.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

does anyone have any idea what to do to fix this?

Re: UNABLE TO SEND EMAILS

Apparently Comcast didn't advise you that they switched to port 587?

follow the last steps... starting with 10.
