| | can't empty inbox I'm working from a new computer with Vista. I have att.yahoo as one of my mail servers. It's sent all its mail to the Windows Mail inbox. This means I have over 1400 pieces of mail. I want to empty the folder and/or delete all the messages without having to do them one at a time. But when I right click on the folder, the delete option is grayed out. Please help. Thanks. |

If not, then this will help show you how to fix the stuck undeletable email message problem in Windows Mail for all folders. Installing the KB941090 update will just fix the problem for now. You must stop the cause to prevent it from happening again. Read the section titled "FIRST" in this tutorial about antivirus and other security programs to help prevent this from happening again, then install the KB941090 Microsoft Update in the section titled "SECOND" to fix and be able to delete the stuck message from the problem folder. | | Re: can't empty inbox If you right-click on the folder, the context menu offers Delete, but that Delete if for the folder. If you want to delete the messages *inside* the folder, open the folder, click in the message list pane, do Ctrl-A (Select All), then press the Delete key or click on the Delete button. Incidentally, you cannot delete system-created folders like the Inbox, which is why that option was grayed out. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "msboc" <msboc@xxxxxx> wrote in message news 73528BD-5B8E-4903-A772-BB562D859D23@xxxxxxQuote: > I'm working from a new computer with Vista.
