| | Receiving Duplicate Messages I am receiving two identical messages every time. I checked to see that I do not have duplicate accounts set up as mentioned in other posts, but it does not appear that this is the case. Does anyone know what else may be the problem? I have three accounts and each one appears to be different. I am using Vista. All was fine until last night when I did a send & receive and I was prompted for my user name and password, which I normally do not need to enter. It then started downloading about 40 messages, all of which were duplicates, and has downloaded duplicates ever since. Thank you! |

| | Re: Receiving Duplicate Messages So the 40 messages that were downloaded represented 20 different messages, each in duplicate? That type of behavior can be caused by interference from a non- compatible antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running? As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "CPA009" <CPA009@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:80717686-E37C-45D4-9500-5ED263C83B70@xxxxxx Quote: >I am receiving two identical messages every time. | | Re: Receiving Duplicate Messages Gary - thank you for your response. Yes, the 40 messages that were downloaded represented 20 different messages, each in duplicate. After I posted my message on the board, I tried deleting the account that was receiving duplicate messages, even though it did not look like it was created twice in Tools/Accounts (it was listed only once). I then recreated the account and it has solved the problem. Thanks again for your reply. This is the first time I have posted a message to the discussion group and I am impressed with the quick help!
