I have read and tried every thing on these posts, which I thought were helfpul, even though nothing worked. I can't seem to figure out what I am doing wrong. Any suggestions. Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. | | Re: Help! Windows Mail is not the problem. With port 465 you must use the SSL option, as clearly stated in Yahoo's email setup instructions. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "Kerry" <Kerry@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:69F4DBEE-E5F0-4B3F-9A57-1200200342A6@xxxxxx Quote: >I have to let it be said that I hate windows mail. | | Re: Help! That type of error is often caused by interference from a non-compatible antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running? As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off. This often insufficient; in many cases the AntiVirus application must be uninstalled, then re-installed using the "Custom" option where the email scanning system can be prevented from being installed. Email scanning is redundant, it does nothing but create problems where none exist, and your system is still fully protected without it, provided the resident file system scanner is kept up to date. I assume you corrected "Secure(SSL): No" to "Secure(SSL): Yes". -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "Kerry" <Kerry@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:26986DA2-DA65-4F96-A646-738DE7042A54@xxxxxx Quote: > Figured it out!
