| | RE: can't send email I also have the same problem - can receive but can't send email. The reason I'm given is as follows: The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the "I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider. I've been to my ISP and was not successful there, and I've also gone into my account and ticked the 'authentication' box there but the problem is still there. If anyone can help us both, it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks Hendo "Jo Boyd" wrote: Quote: > I am receiving e-mail but can't send. | | Re: can't send email If that is the only recipient you are having trouble with it sounds like something is wrong with their email address, or you typed it wrong, maybe there is a capital letter in there that shouldn't make a difference but is doing so anyway. Has the recipient actually blocked you by accident? Try sending one to me and see what happens, I know from the spam I get there's not much blocking this address I may not get to see it but ifyou get a bounce message from here maybe it will help diagnose the problem. Your IP address is from Opal Telecommunications in Irlam, Manchester. If you are not at home and your provider where you are is someone other than Tiscali then the Tiscali server is telling you it declines your request to send. If you are at home then maybe a call to your provider will solve this, they may have changed something and not told you. |
