RE: can't send email

I also have the same problem - can receive but can't send email. The reason
I'm given is as follows:

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

I've been to my ISP and was not successful there, and I've also gone into my
account and ticked the 'authentication' box there but the problem is still
there.

If anyone can help us both, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Hendo

Re: can't send email

You left off the most important part of the error message. It should
look something like this:

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Re: Test', Account:
'mail.comcast.net', Server: 'smtp.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): Yes, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Re: can't send email

Comcast made some changes in their email settings without telling
their customers. Use these new instructions:

Re: can't send email

Oops, sorry Gary

Below is the whole error message,

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was 'pypdm@xxxxxx'. Subject 'Women',
Account: 'mail.aapt.net.au', Server: 'mail.aapt.net.au', Protocol: SMTP,
Server Response: '550 5.1.1 <pypdm@xxxxxx>: Recipient address rejected:
unknown user', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number:
0x800CCC79

It's terrific that you can take the time out to help with these problems.
I've noticed you have helped a few people with various problems. Fingers
crossed you can help me and Jo with ours.

Much appreciated mate

Re: can't send email

If that is the only recipient you are having trouble with it sounds like
something is wrong with their email address, or you typed it wrong,
maybe there is a capital letter in there that shouldn't make a
difference but is doing so anyway. Has the recipient actually blocked
you by accident?

Try sending one to me and see what happens, I know from the spam I get
there's not much blocking this address I may not get to see it but if
you get a bounce message from here maybe it will help diagnose the problem.

I'm having the same problem with my email. The error message I get says.

An unknow error has occurred. Subject 'FW: Full and Part Time Jobs at 5pm',

Is Tiscali your provider where you are now? Your IP address is from Opal
Telecommunications in Irlam, Manchester. If you are not at home and your
provider where you are is someone other than Tiscali then the Tiscali
server is telling you it declines your request to send. If you are at
home then maybe a call to your provider will solve this, they may have
changed something and not told you.
