Ghost images

My monitor is suddenly showing ghost images or what I would call 'vapor
trails'--pale greyish blurs to the right of all text or pictures, icons on
desktop, in any Windows program, on internet pages, etc. I've rebooted (no
change: but the ghost images do *not* show on the blue & white HP screen or
the all-black screen before Windows starts up--but as soon as it goes to
Windows there they are). I've adjusted everything possible on the monitor
with no change. Is this a problem with Windows? With my video card? Any
suggestions very welcome!
Thanks,

Re: Ghost images

Since it happens in all programs, it's not a Windows Mail problem.
I suggest you download and install the latest video driver for your
graphics card. If that doesn't help, your graphics card may have
developed a hardware problem.

Re: Ghost images

Sorry; I thought I was posting this is general 'windows vista', not 'windows
mail'. Anyway, about 8 hours after the problem appeared, it disappeared.
Thanks for the replies.
