some email not received

I have two different email accounts coming into windows mail. Up until last
week all was well. One account still sends and receives without problem but
the other sends but is not received by all recipients. On this account I
cannot even receive a test message back to myself. (I checked to make sure I
had not blocked my email address and even added my address to the allowed
listing, but that did not help.) Very frustrating to not know who is and who
is not receiving email. Any suggestions or help?

Re: some email not received

Which email provider for that malfunctioning account?
Some providers do not allow you to download emails sent to yourself.
Do you get any error messages or 'bounce' notices?

Re: some email not received

The email provider is verizon.net.
They have been allowing me to download emails for a long time.
This issue just started last week.
I do not get any error messages.

Re: some email not received

When you login at http://webmail.verizon.net/signin/
can you see that test email you sent to yourself?
In Windows Mail, is that test email in your Sent Items folder?
Which antivirus are you running?

If you send an email to several recipients, and some recipients receive
that email, but others don't, I don't see how that could be the fault of Windows
Mail. It either works or it doesn't. That scenario implies that something is wrong
at the recipient's end.

Re: some email not received

Answers for you and an update.
Yes, when I would login to webmail I would receive my test email to myself
and it would later arrive in my windows mail inbox. However, if I sent a
test email to myself, from windows mail it would never show up . (Update:
This is until late this evening when suddently, for unknown reasons, it
started working again.) To completely reply to your questions, "yes" the
outgoing email would always show up in my outbox, just not come into the
inbox. In regard to antivirus, I am using Windows Live OneCare. Lastly, I
agree that it doesn't make sense at all that some recipents would receive and
other would not receive my sent email. I am having some of those individuals
contact their isps. Even though my problem, after 4.5 days disappeared via
some unknown way, just as it had originally occured, I thank you for your
time and hope that this item might give anyone else who might encounter this
problem have hope that it will clear up!

Hello Gary, you have helped me in the past so I am coming to you again. I
am having the same problem this person had. Some of my emails are rec'd to
those whom I emails, others are not.

I have checked my settings and all is good. I have comcast. I have tried
turning off my firewall, etc. and I also worked w/ a tech at comcast. He
said it has to be an issue w/ windows mail. I just cannot figure out why all
of the sudden my emails are not being rec'd. It's approx. 50% of my emails
that go thru....do you have any suggestions for me? Was there a recent
update that could have affected my outgoing mail? Should I remove the
account and re-add?? I am currently seeking employment and definitely need to
know my emails are being rec'd.

Thanks so much.

OP has Verizon, not Comcast, so the odds of this being the same problem are
very remote. This kind of problem is not with your client. If some of the
recipients are receiving your email, then the reason others are not is
likely with your service.

Tier 1 support always blames the software; however, some of your
correspondents are receiving your email, so it can't be the software.

There are any number of possibilities, from the Comcast server being blocked
by your recipient's service to filters on your recipient's accounts trapping
your email. It is really out of your hands, unless you can contact your
recipient by alternate means for verification.

Re: some email not received

Do you get any error messages or non-delivery notices? If not, and
50% of your emails go through, it is unlikely that your Windows Mail
is at fault. Make sure that all sent messages leave a copy in Sent Items,
and there is no accumulation in the Outbox. Keep sending yourself
test emails and verify they arrive.
