"pop" is not a valid mail server name. Get the correct mail server name
from your mail provider.

Re: suddenly can't receive or send email

hi i was having the same problem and never b4 have i had it, my desk top is
fine and runs on xp, but my new lap top use to be able send and receive but
all of a sudden it cant send, though in saying that it can send from another
email account such live .com.au throungh (msn.)
ive taken the lap top to my daughter house thinking it might be my provider
and checked to see if i had the same problem with her provider an i did. So i
cant help but think its in the set up vista email. can u please help me to
set it up correctly. below is a copy of the report that is returned to me
after trying to send. ive gone through the set of my account with my provider
twice and still have the same problem.
Subject '', Account: 'mail.virginbroadband.com.au', Server:
'smtp.virginbroadband.com.au', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No,
Error Number: 0x800CCC19

I contacted my service provider and learned that the smtp outgoing mail
setting in advanced tab had to be changed from 25 to another
number...everything works fine now

Yes, that would fix it if the problem was caused by using a different
Internet service provider (other than Virgin Broadband).
