cannot send or receive

hi
I just got a new computer and I set-up my e-mail account and it worked fine
then. But now I am not able to send or receive

this is the message I am getting
please help

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'pop.videotron.ca',
Server: 'pop.videotron.ca', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No,
Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

That type of error is often caused by interference from a non-
compatible antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.

Right-click on the error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without your complete error message.

error I am running norton antivirus

Norton antivirus is among the top three troublemakers for Windows Mail.
Symptoms often don't start until months later. Also, turning off its email
scanning is seldom sufficient.
The only way you can prove or disprove that Norton is the culprit is to
uninstall it, followed by using their debris removal tool:

Another option is to upgrade to Windows Live Mail, which is more
resistant to the adverse effects of aggressive antivirus products:
http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview
