How to stop mail reporting a server disconnection?

Hi, using Windows Mail on a Vista sp1 Home premium laptop.

When the routers been switched off (by me) and I wake the laptop from sleep
there is always a nag screen telling me the news/mail server is unavailable.
Obviously I already know the connection been interupted as I did it. Is
there any was to stop this nag screen. I've looked in all the usual places
and cant find it.

Thanks.

Try not switching off the router. I leave mine on 24/7.

Well yes of course I could do that but that isnt actually an answer to the
question. Suffice it to say that for good reasons ( which I shant bore you
with) I dont want to do that.

Thanks for your reply.

Well, that was my solution.
I should have added that you can expect problems like that when
you shut the router down. Others I have talked to who do this
say they have to restart Windows in order to regain connectivity.
